My Lord,
Referring to the 11th paragraph of my Confidential despatch of the 30th ultimo, I have the honour to transmit copy of my notes of the proceedings at the meeting held at the beginning of this month to discuss matters in connection with the Railway.
2. The arrangement arrived at for reducing the work of accounting, will I trust relieve the Chief Resident Engineer of much office work and enable him to devote more time to the supervision of the work of construction.
3. I have authorised the engagement of one stock verifier at a salary of from $120 to $150 per mensem in the first instance. It is possible that one such officer may be found sufficient.
