Police from here would be despatched to take charge of prisoner; but my telegram arrived after the departure of Adsetts for in the meantime the United States Authorities had come to the decision which I had myself thought of as a possible solution to the difficulty that Adsetts should be conveyed by an American War Vessel to Manila. I am now causing the necessary documents to support an application for extradition to be prepared, and I hope that in due course the Government of the Philippines may agree to hand him over for trial by the Supreme Court of Hongkong.
