Referring to Sir Henry Blake's

Despatch No. 139 of the 4th. April, 1901, and previous

correspondence on the subject of the allotment to the

Victoria Recreation Club of a site at Murray Pier, I have

the honour to forward a plan showing the area which has now

been handed over to the Club.

I have at the same time to request

Your Lordship's permission to make a free grant to the Club

of the small area hatched red on the plan, which is of no

use to this Government, under terms similar to those on

which the main site is held, on the condition that no

expense in connection with it shall fall on this Govern-

-ment, and on the clear understanding that the grant conveys

no marine rights.
