ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE
Bangkok,
27th July, 1907.
Report on Ordinance No.11 of 1907.
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance relating to Life Insurance Companies" and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions.
The object of this Ordinance is to secure the solvency and permanency of companies carrying on the business of Life Insurance in the Colony as is done in England by the Life Assurance Acts. Similar provisions apply to companies registered in the Colony under the Companies Ordinance, 1865, which carry on the business of Life Insurance in China. Life Insurance companies registered in the Colony which carry on business in China without having complied with the provisions of the Ordinance may be struck off the Register.
Attorney General.
