I have the honour, at the request of His Honour the Chief Justice, to forward a copy of a letter addressed by him to Mr. May, when administering the Government of this Colony, in connection with correspondence recently published on the subject of the salaries of European Civil Servants. I enclose also a copy of the correspondence, which was laid on the table of the Legislative Council.
2. Sir Francis Piggott has withdrawn his request that a copy of the letter now transmitted should be laid on the table of the Council.
