Referring to Your Lordship's Despatch No. 125 of the 15th June last forwarding correspondence on the subject of Mr. L. A. M. Johnston's allowance from the Imperial Post Office in his capacity of Postmaster-General of this Colony, I have the honour to state that it is the practice for the Postmaster-General of Hongkong to draw the full allowance while on full pay leave and half of it while on half pay leave.

I have therefore to request that arrangements may be made to pay Mr. Johnston accordingly from the lat May last inclusive.
