by Inspector Reidle both in his evidence before the Commission and in his replies to the Colonial Secretary, are so extremely unsatisfactory as to destroy the confidence of this Government in his honesty. I have therefore with the concurrence of the members of the Executive Council to suggest that Your Lordship should consider the evidence and Inspector Reidie's replies, and that if such course appears justifiable Your Lordship should recommend the Crown to dispense with his services.
