Referring to Sir Matthew Nathan's Despatch No.177 of the 29th June, 1906, I have the honour to transmit the Report of the Inspector of Schools for the year 1906.

2. The report shows that in Government Grant Schools and Private Schools there was an average school attendance of 10,132 children or 14 per centum of the population of boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 20 years according to the Census for 1906, an increase of 8 per centum on the attendance for the previous year (Table V); that the attendance in the Government Schools exclusive of Queen's College was 927 against 782 in the previous year (Table I); while in the Grant Schools it was 3,564 as against 3,527 in 1905. The total Government expenditure on Education was $159,373.00, being 2.33 per centum of the expenditure of the Colony; and the revenue...
