Sir H. Blake was also of opinion that the sterling salary offered was ₤300-₤345, quite enough.
The Ceylon Accountant gets ₤550 - ₤650, the assistant ₤350-£450, but the Postal Dept is much the bigger.
The SPO however gets a higher salary.
Last year the PMG (21096) was evidently of opinion that the office of Accountant was underpaid.
