They are, however, under the disability that, when acting in a post, they are entitled to draw only half the lower Sterling Salary attached to it whereas a Passed Cadet on a dollar salary when acting in the same post draws half the higher dollar salary of the post. If Your Lordship should see fit to approve my recommendation that the lower sterling rate should be abolished, the immediate effect would be to do away with this anomaly.

I have made no reference to appointments other than those appropriated to members of the Cadet Service, for the reason that in the case of some of these appointments the Sterling Salaries approximate to the present dollar salaries, and the salaries of the majority of the remainder have been increased since the introduction of the Sterling Salaries Scheme.
