I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No 162 of June 14th with regard to the terms of the Deeds conveying to the Admiralty certain Marine Lots in Hong Kong and Kowloon.

2. I note that you consider that there is no objection to the amendment suggested by the Admiralty, whereas it appears from the Admiralty letter of April 20th that Sir M. Nathan was not prepared to agree to the first of the three suggestions - that referring to the right of making sewers, watercourses etc.

3. In view of this difference of opinion, I should be glad if you would communicate the papers to Sir F. Lugard on his arrival and ask him to inform me of his views.
