In view of the circumstance that in the
Despatch from the Secretary of State on the subject of the pro-
-portion of pension payable to me from places other than Hong-
-kong, forwarded in your letter to me No. 1016 of the 14th.
instant, no mention is made of the amount of the pension to be
awarded to me in respect of my service as an officer of the
Western Pacific High Commission, I have the honour respectfully
to ask His Fxcellency the Officer Administering the Government
to lay before Lord Elgin this my humble request, that His Lord-
-ship will be graciously pleased to move the Lords Commissioners
of the Treasury to award me a pension for my service of 13 years
as Chief Judicial Commissioner for the Western Pacific.
