I would point out that any officer in Great Britain who had to carry out work of a similar nature to that of which I have charge would receive at least from £800 to £1,000 per annum with superannuation equal to that existing here and he would work under far less trying conditions than is the case here.
I feel sure that under these circumstances if the Government will give the matter their further consideration they will realize that I am not being paid a salary to which my services entitle me, if however, they are still unable to comply with my request, I beg to point out that owing to the distance from England and the consequent impossibility of keeping in touch with the various lucrative appointments constantly occurring I am entirely at their mercy in this matter and I would therefore in justice ask them to use their influence with the Home Authorities to further my claim for advancement and I feel sure that my record is such when placed before them as to qualify me for any position where capability and experience are required.
