I would also point out that the services of Mr. Little, Assistant Engineer, and of Mr. Bolton, Surveyor, have recently been lost owing to the inadequacy of their salaries and that Mr. Darby, Surveyor, is endeavouring to obtain employment elsewhere. It is not in the real interests of the Colony that good officers should be lost in this way nor is it conducive to good results that there should exist a general feeling of dissatisfaction.
