I beg to forward applications from Messrs. Fisher and Perkins, Executive Engineers, representing that their present salaries are inadequate, taking into consideration the importance and arduousness of their duties, and requesting that they may be granted increases. I have shown their letters to His Excellency, who has expressed himself to the effect that he considers that some revision of salaries should be made in the case of the Executive Engineers.

They are the principal officers of this Department, next to the Assistant Director of Public Works, and their duties are undoubtedly of an important nature. Their salaries are at present as follows:-
