Publicers Department,
Hongkong, 4th. September, 1908.
Honourable
His Excellency the Governor has requested
me to submit a proposal with regard to the resumption by Govern-
-ment, in connection with the Railway Terminus, of Kowloon Inland
Lot 210 and Kowloon Marine Lots 34 and 81, preferably on the
basis of 'an exchange of areas with the owners ›(kesars. Priedrich
Hohace and Friedrich Johann Rudolf Schwarzkopf).
2.
The area now known as Kowloon Inland Lot
210 was originably Garden Lot 28. It had an area of 29,039
square feet, but, in its conversion into an Inland Lot, its area
was increased to 40,320 square feet. The teras for conversion
were half cent per square foot premium and $200 per sore Crown
Rent. The amount of premium paid was $145 (evidently based on the
area of the Garden Lot); the Crown Rent being fixed at $198
(based on the area of the Inland Lot). The lease dates from 25th.
December, 1885, and is for a period of 75 years.
3.
Kowloon Marine Lot 34 mas sold by public
auction on the 8th. February, 1892, on a 75 years' lease at a
premium of $1 per square foot and Crown Rent of $800 per acre.
The presius stated in the Conditions of Sale was really quite 32
per square foot, but it included a sum of $11,000 which the
Government had undertaken to pay to the applicants (Messrs.
Blackhead and Company), in the event of the lot being purchased
by any other party, on account of improvements carried out by
thes prior to the date of sale. The area stated in the Conditions
of Sale is 10,905 square feet, but, according to the lease, it
