dated the 16th of January last from the Chief Manager of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation asking that Section 22 of Ordinance No. 2 of 1866 may be amended to permit the capital of the Corporation being increased to $20,000,000, and that the operation of Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1 of 1899, as amended by Ordinance No. 5 of 1900 may be extended for a period of 21 years from the 14th of August, 1908, together with copy of a further letter from Mr. J.
