Your Petitioner as mentioned in paragraph 5 hereof was not called as a witness during the period when Your Petitioner was in attendance before His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government in Council.
The following witnesses gave evidence on Your Petitioner's behalf, namely Mr. McGregor the Master of the Steamship "Mercedes", Mr. Bruce the Master of the Steamship "Hazel Dollar", Mr. Stoker the Master of the Steamship "Woolwich", Mr. Milroy Superintendent of "The Sailors' Home" Hong Kong, Chen Yew Ting and Li Sun Tai.
Your Petitioner has made application through the Colonial Secretary for a copy of the evidence given at the above-mentioned Inquiry, but Your Petitioner's application has not been granted.
On the 23rd January 1907 Your Petitioner was informed by the Colonial Secretary that as a result of the evidence given against Your Petitioner before the Executive Council Your Petitioner was, as from the 24th January 1907, suspended from the exercise of Your Petitioner's office.
Your Petitioner was further informed that the decision of the Officer Administering the Government in Council would be submitted to Your Lordship as Secretary of State for the Colonies for Your Lordship's approval and confirmation with a view to Your Petitioner's dismissal from the Public Service.
Your Petitioner was further informed that pending Your Lordship's decision Your Petitioner would receive an alimentary allowance of $50 a month from the date of Your Petitioner's suspension.
