Considerably surprised & grieved to hear that you are about to resign your position as Shipping Master at this port & I am sure that all ship masters who have had anything to do with you in your Official Capacity will agree with me, that for despatch & accuracy in shipping off & shipping crews your equal will be hard to find. During the eleven years that I have known you it has always been a pleasure to have you come on board my vessel to pay the crew off, as you always do the work in half the time it takes in other ports.
