in Your Petitioner's favour in preference to the evidence of

witnesses of the class who have given testimony against Your

Petitioner.

In this regard Your Petitioner would respectfully point

out that if at this distance of time from Your Petitioner's

entry into the service of the Hong Kong Government Your

Petitioner be deprived not only of his Office thereunder,

but also of the fruits of his long service he will have been

ignominiously dismissed from the Public Service as the result

of an Inquiry whereat the balance of the evidence was largely

in Your Petitioner's favour.

In conclusion Your Petitioner appeals to Your Lordship

to at least adjust the equities as between Your Petitioner

and his Accusers so that Your Petitioner may be awarded that

degree of Justice which in similar circumstances would be

meted out to him by a Court of Justice, wherein as an absolute

condition precedent to the conviction of any person it is

required that he be proved guilty beyond all reasonable

possibility of doubt.

Your Petitioner accordingly respect-

fully prays that Your Lordship may

graciously deem it meet to ordain

that Your Petitioner may be reinstat-

ed in his said Office with effect

from the date of Your Petitioner's

suspension therefrom.

And Your Petitioner will ever pray &c
