I am directed to inform you that His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government intends to suspend you from the exercise of your office of Sanitary Inspector on the following grounds, viz.:-
(a).

2. On or about Christmas 1906 accepting a present of fowls and ducks from the Luk Cheong Mo Kee Poultry Lan, No. 17, Ko Shing Street, such present not being an ordinary gift from a personal friend;
On or about the 15th day of September, 1905, accepting from the Manager of the Wax Choong & Kee Poultry Lan, No. 17, Ko Shing Street, a sum of $25.
A translation of an entry in a memorandum relating to the transaction in (b) of paragraph 1 of this letter is enclosed.
3. I am to call on you to furnish in writing a statement of the grounds on which you rely to exculpate yourself and to furnish that statement by noon on Saturday the 26th instant.
