I am directed to inform you that the Governor has considered the answers furnished by you to the charges against you contained in Mr. Sercombe Smith's letter of the 15th ultimo, and that you have failed to exculpate yourself to the satisfaction of the Governor.

I am accordingly to apprise you that on the 11th instant at 2.30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, the question of your suspension will be brought before the Executive Council, when you will be allowed to appear before the Council and defend yourself orally and call any witnesses you may desire to call in your defence.
