1. is the last & not the best of the old Gold Coast Surveyors. He is well over age.
2, 3, 4, & 5 are not on your original list. The two I have called on are not attractive candidates personally.

I think that this appointment might be satisfactorily filled by a retired officer on the Ordnance Survey.

I do not see any very satisfactory applicant on the attached list. The S.G.O.S. should be asked to select a man and justify his selection.
Age might be a consideration. He has plenty of men capable of surveying intricate city blocks.
If this fails, I suggest Mr. Matthews.
