I am very sorry to learn there is a probability of you resigning, and more so when I hear the accusations that are being brought against you.
As master of the above company's steamers, I have, for the last seven years, engaged and discharged Chinese crew yearly, and on no occasion have I noticed any dissatisfaction amongst the crew receiving their pay!
As proof of this, I have admired the way you got the work done. Without the knowledge of Chinese, such as you have, I could not attempt to do it alone.
I am visiting Hongkong, and I hope those who would injure you may thus have their deserts.
