to the payment beyond that
which he has already
received.
3. It is said
that Mr. McDonald
is mistaken in supposing
that he would have been entitled to pension if
he had remained in
the service until
1st July 1950.
A Police
Officer is required
to complete 25
years'
resident service before
he becomes eligible for
pension.
Absence on
C.A. 740
leave is counted
as resident service,
to the extent of one
half. But Mr. McDonald's
total
police service
at the
retirement
date was only 8 years &
months.
