With reference to your letter of 12th September, transmitting a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong as to the abandonment of the Medical Registration Ordinance for the Colony, I am directed to inform you that the Executive Committee of this Council having considered your communication on 26th November adopted the following Resolution:-

Resolved "That, in view of the opinion set forth in their Resolution of May 21, 1906, the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE express their regret at the abandonment of the proposed Medical Registration Ordinance and Dentists' Registration Bill of the Colony of Hong Kong."

With regard to Ordinance No.5 of 1906 of the Colony of Southern Nigeria, the receipt of which I have already acknowledged, the Committee on the same date expressed its satisfaction that provision is made therein for the prevention under penalties of medical practice by unqualified persons.
