Sir,

I am directed by the Postmaster General to acknowledge

the receipt of your letter of the 10th ultimo, No.33207/1906,

stating that the Government of Hong Kong has decided to

establish a Postal Agency at Tientsin as a temporary measure

and that the new agency will be opened on the 1st of October

1906.

In reply, I am to acquaint you, for the information of

the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that the necessary

instructions have been issued in this Office; and I am to

enclose a copy of a Notice on the subject which has been

communicated to the newspapers.

It has been assumed that all the postal services carried

on by the other Agencies in China of the Hong Kong Post Office

will be carried on by the new Agency at Tientsin.
