ON THE ACCOUNT OF RECEIPTS AND EXPENDITURE
OF THE TREASURER OF HONG KONG FOR THE YEAR

1. The Revenue of the year 1904 amounted to $6,322,949.35 or, inclusive of Land Sales, to $6,809,047.99. The Expenditure during the same period was $6,376,235.30.
The Revenue thus exceeded the Expenditure by $432,812.69.
REVENUE.
2. The total Revenue of the year amounting, as stated above, to $6,809,047.99 was $200,739.99 more than the Estimate of $6,608,308 and exceeded the Revenue of 1903 by $1,570,190.11.
The estimated receipts were exceeded under six out of the nine Heads of Revenue. The differences between the amounts estimated and realised are shown in the accompanying Detailed Statement of Revenue.
EXPENDITURE.
3. The total Expenditure of $6,376,235.30 was less than the Estimate by $155,113.70 and exceeded the expenditure of 1903 by $979,565.82.
The excesses on the various Heads amounting, as shown in the Account, to $201,555.20 have been duly provided for by Supplementary Appropriation
