Again, Kung-ming Shan and K'ung-ming Shan have each their own positions and are two distinct hills. Kung-ming Shan is situated on the boundary; on this hill is Mengmau, otherwise known as Hsin-tifang ("New Place"), a stockaded village of the Shans. K'ung-ming Shan on the east is in the jurisdiction of Mengpin; on the south, of Menglem; on the west, of Hsi-ming; and on the north, of Mu-nai.

It is ground where the districts of four T'ussú interlock like a dog's teeth, and is distant only 60 li (say, 25 miles) from Chenpien. It is undoubtedly in the interior (of China), and one cannot, of course, owing to the accidental similarity of a single hieroglyph, transfer it from this to that.

Such in brief is the outcome of the present inquiry.
