"British steam-ship "Saiman" pirated twelve miles below Samshui. Dr. Mac-Donald, Missionary at Wachow, killed; Captain and four Indians [group omitted ? wounded]. Steamer returns to Canton."
I have asked Wai-wa Pu to send urgent instructions to Viceroy to take all necessary measures for capture of pirates.
