Sir:-
I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to acquaint
you, for the information of the Earl of Elgin that the
Archbishop of Canterbury having formally applied for
His Majesty's Warrant authorizing the consecration of
the Venerable Horace McClure Eyre Price, M.A., to be
Bishop of the Church of England in the Province of
Fuh-Kien in the Empire of China, steps are being taken
to comply with His Grace's request.
