Sir,
I have laid before the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury Ifr. Lucas's letter of the 15th instant (20399/1906), transmitting copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong with regard to certain payments to be made to the Government of that Colony in connection with the winding up of the Praya Reclamation Fund, and in reply I am to request you to inform the Earl of Elgin that My Lords raise no objection to the Governor's proposal that the payments in question shall not be liable to the Military Contribution percentage.
The Ordinance enclosed with the letter under reply is returned herewith.
