The Chief Store Keeper's office was destroyed, but all his books being in a tin box were saved quite dry and complete. All the furniture was destroyed.

The foundations of the derrick were undermined by the filling, being drawn through the Pierre Perdu, the whole ground along the edge of the wharf subsiding about a foot. The crane is not apparently injured,
6. The launch had her rudder carried away on a rock in Mirs Bay the Sunday before and was being hauled upon a slipway, when the typhoon striking her washed her further up without doing much damage.
6. On the metre gauge line up to the tunnel a couple of temporary bridges were washed out and some sleepers floated away, but otherwise not much damage was done.
7. At the South Tunnel Face, the officers and miners' quarters and the Sub-Divisional office stood well with the loss of a few tiles, but most of the coolie matsheds suffered very severely and were swept away. The machinery however has not been injured though the pump could not be kept going.
