Sir,

I am directed to state that His Excellency the Governor intends to suspend you from the exercise of your office upon the following grounds, viz.:-

(a). Lending on or about the 14th or 15th day of January, 1906, the sum of $500 at 3 per centum a month to Lai Him, Master of the Ui Fong Un Eating House, No. 592, Queen's Road West, in contravention of Nos. 76 and 76/A of the Rules and Regulations for His Majesty's Colonial Service:

(b). Receiving from the Fuk On Firm or Shop of No. 208, Des Voeux Road Central, 1st Floor, Scavenging Contractors, a monthly sum of $20 from March, 1905, to January, 1906, both months inclusive, and a monthly sum of $10 from February, 1906, to June, 1906, both months inclusive, as shown in the annexed copies of entries and translation of such entries made in the account books of the Fuk On Firm or Shop:

(c). Receiving from the same Fuk On Firm or Shop of No. 208, Des Voeux Road Central, 1st floor, on or about the 5th day of May, 1906, a sum of $55 to hand to Inspector Conolly, and on or about the 3rd day of June, 1906, a like sum of $56 for the same purpose as shown in the annexed copies of entries
