replacing 4 boats at outstations is now put down at $720 and of replacing Gunpowder Charges at Gap Rock destroyed by the typhoon of the 29th September at $1,222 bringing up the total losses by the Harbour Department to $2,742 or say $3,000.
Paragraph 9.
Of the vessels in charge of the Government Sampan Medical Department repairs to the Small-pox Hulk "Hygeia" and Health Officer's launch "Sybil" will cost $4,873 and $973 respectively. A vote for $5,846 for these repairs was taken at the Meeting of the Legislative Council held on the 11th instant and was reported in my Despatch No. 252 dated 15th October.
A further vote of $450 is necessary for the hire of a Launch while the "Sybil" was under repair, bringing the total expenditure on account of vessels in charge of the Medical Department to $6,296 or say $6,300.
Repairs to two Sanitary Department Plague-boats have been provided for from a vote for $6,000 on account of typhoon expenses incurred by that Department.
