that in view of the increased size of vessels now running and
the constantly increasing stream of passengers of all classes
and nationalities who are now passing through the Colony, that
the limit of Asiatic passengers who may be carried without an
Emigration certificate is too low and that the maximum might
well be raised from twenty to fifty.
We would be glad if you would be good enough to
lay this letter before your Committee and trust they will see
their way to approaching the Government with a view to having
the Ordinance amended on the basis suggested.
