Re: Human remains extracts.

(Signed) C. P. LUCAS, Governor.

DESPATCH.

HONG KONG.

No. 423.

(Subject.) Harbour Master.

Lt. Beckwith has been appointed as Harbour Master.

B. Taylor will put Beckwith in charge.

Mr. Alex-ander will scope out if Beckwith's performance is satisfactory.

(Minutes.)

Collins De Starris.

There are several applicants for the position.

GR1178/1922/32(III).

38951, 415-30, 40784, 37077, 37480 (all in a bundle).

The post should be filled if possible, with a promotion.

Only consider the following applicants:

(1) Captain Taylor, who has held the present post since July 1899.

His application is supported by Captain Barnes.

The only thing against him is the marked passage in para. 8, which suggests that he is getting slack.

Captain Laurence attributes this to disappointment.

Count Taylor has told me he is in a very mournful mood.
