I am sure, realize that I deeply feel this distress,
intensified as it has been by the loss of two valued personal friends Bishop Hoare, who died in the execution
of his duty and Captain Barnes-Lawrence, who succumbed to
illness rendered fatal by exposure when endeavouring to
relieve and save other sufferers.
