Another matter to which I have
promised the Legislative Council to give consideration is
that of providing as soon as possible additional accommoda-
-tion for junks seeking shelter from storms. The present
Junk typhoon anchorage at Causeway Bay provided in 1883 to
give a safe place of refuge of about 100 acres in extent
is barely sufficient to contain all the native craft that
resort there when the typhoon signals go up and being
situated at the East end of the harbour and not being very
