Stanley Police Station was blown away and reports are still coming in of damages to jalousies, window glass and roofs of other Police Stations on the Island. Reports from the New Territories are also not yet complete but so far information has been received that considerable injury was done to Shatin Police Station, that the roof of Sai Kung Police Station was partially stripped, that at Tai Po Matshed Offices and Quarters were wrecked, the new permanent quarters received minor injuries, and the building in the New Market Town, hired as a dispensary, was much damaged. San Tin and Ping Shan Police Stations suffered considerably but details are not yet to hand. A small landslip occurred behind Tai O Police Station on Lantao Island. The Director of Public Works reports that repairs are progressing as rapidly as possible and are estimated to cost $9,000 in the Island and Kowloon and $4,800 in the New Territories, say $14,000 in all. The cost of making good minor damages to Lighthouses is estimated at $1,000.

Little damage was done to the very considerable Works that are in progress and still in the hands of Contractors, except that scaffoldings, matsheds and temporary structures have been in nearly all cases
