Referring to my talagram of yesterday re typhoon,
I regret to roport that there is strong evidence that Bishop Hoare, who was on dicoasan legation in New
Territories, has beon drownod. There has been great
loss of life among the Chinsas in colonial waters outside
the harbour as well as inside. It is impossible at
present to form an estimate but it probably amounts to
several thousand.
