discussing the matter with him and with the Director of
Public Works I concur, that a site on these lots which are
situate at the East end of the 100 foot Salisbury Road is
the proper one for the passenger station at Kowloon and
further that the carrying of a line of railway across these
lots would greatly facilitate the provision of private
aidings to the various godown and other companies that lie
to the West of them. It would probably involve a large
expenditure than would be justified to resume the property
while it is possible that if an equally good site for the
present lessee's business could be exchanged for it,
arrangements far less costly to the Government could be
made while at the same time an important business would not
be stopped or checked.
The only suitable site is part of
the area of the proposed reclamation at North Point which
I propose to offer to Messrs. Blackhead & Co.

Waters East" to which I have transferred the position of
the two 6 inch quick-firing guns and their extreme arcs of
fire from the larger scale tracing furnished by the General
Officer Commanding. I have also enfaced on the chart the
outer limit of the proposed reclamation and on the assump-
tion
