The Regiacore of Births, or Dontbs, which have occurred in the Colony of Iloagkong aineo the First day of January, 187, are kept in the Registrar General's Office. Every person is entitled to search such Registers and relative Inventories or Indexes, in the custody of the Registrar, upon every week day, except Haturday, hetween 10 a.m. and 4 p.. and every Saturday between 10 A.M. Fifty cents will be charged, and Twenty-five cents for every additional year, and the sum of One Dollar for every single certificate. For every general search of an Index, the charge is Two Dollurs and for every Partionlar search Fifty cents

and 1.30 PM. For every search of a Register, extanding over a period not less than One year, the sum of general search is meant a search during any number of successive hours not exceeding six, without stating the object of the search, while by particular search is meant a search over any period not exceeding Five Years for any given entry. Inventories are kept and Certificates of Entries can be obtained only at the Registrar General's Otice. Every extract of and entry in the Register Books kopt under the provisions of the Registration of Births and Deatha Ordinance, No. 18 of 1806. daly signed sui sealed, is admissible as evidence without any other proof of such entry.

The XXth Section of Ordinance No. 16 of 1896 enact that every person who shall wilfully destroy or injure or cause to be destroyed or injured any such Register Book, or any part or Certified Copy of any Part thereof, or shall falsely make or counterfeit, or cause to be falsely made or counterfeited any part of any auch Rogister Book or Certified Copy thereof, or shall wilfully insert er cause to ho inserted in any Register Book, or ertified Copy thereof, any false Entry of any Hirth or Death, or shall wilfully give any false Certificate, or shall certify any writing to be a Copy or Extruot of any Register Book, knowing the same Register to be false in any part thoroof, or aball forge or counterfeit the Seal of the Register Office "shall be guilty of Felony, and, being convicted thereof, shall be liable, at the discretion of the Court to be imprisoned for any term not exceeding Two Years, with or without Hard Labour.
