of the 8th. May, 1905, I have the honour to forward six
copies of the Reports on the Health and Sanitary Condition
of Hongkong for the year 1905.

A change has been made this year
in the form in which the various Medical Reports of the
Colony have been presented. They have all (with the except-
»ion of a Special Report on Beri-Beri) been bound up to-
-gether and prefaced by a Table of Contents which will
facilitate reference to individual documents. From this
table it will be seen that the detailed reports are intro-
»duced by a general one by the Principal Civil Medical
Officer and the Medical Officer of Health. This takes the
place of the former "Report of the Principal Civil Medical
Officer" which covered those of Officers in charge of the
various Government Medical Sub-departments, of the "Report
