I regret that I have to report the
death on the 10th. instant in the Government Civil Hospital
of Mr. Denis O'Keeffe, late an Inspector in the Sanitary
Department. The cause of death was Delirium Tremens.

The deceased Officer who had
previously served in the Royal Irish Constabulary and the
Shanghai Municipal Police, was recruited locally in
October, 1900. He was a bachelor and had no relations in
this Colony. The address of his relatives in the United
Kingdom is not known, but it is believed that a brother, a
priest, lives in Ireland.
