the Department. The Postmaster-General considers that it
may be advisable when a new appointment of Accountant is
made to raise the salary of the post to one of £360 to
£450 by £30 triennial inerements but does not recommend
this for the present holder of the office.

The post of Superintendent of the
Money Order Office is held by Mr. H. Dixon who is in
receipt of its maximum salary of $2,400 with Exchange
Compensation. This is the equivalent of £360 per annum.
I enclose a copy of a letter from Mr. Dixon asking for an
increase which request was strongly supported by the Post-
-master-General who stated that he was an excellent officer.
I propose that he should be offered a salary of £360 to
£450 by £30 triennial increments and that he should come
on to this scale at its first increment,

I do not see my way to readjust
on a sterling basis or on the Grading Scheme the salary
of Mr. G. G. Burnett, Senior Clerk, who draws $2,040 with
Exchange Compensation on a scale of $1,800 to $2,100 and
also receives $540 allowance in lieu of quarters. I propose
that for future appointments the salary of this post
should be £300 to £345 by £15 triennial increments. The
