resident members, the Government shall

have power to determine the lease, and

the land and buildings will, in case

of such power being exereised, revert

uneonditionally to the Government.

To these terms the Golf Club at

first demurred: but the terms have since been accepted upon

the Government stating that it was prepared to give an

assurance that, so far as resumption was concerned, there

was no intention of resuming the area offered on a Seventy-

-five years' Lease unless publie improvements or require-

-ments considered by the Government to be urgent should

necessitate such a course being taken.

I now request Your Lordship's

approval of the proposal to grant a Lease of the land in

question on the terms indicated.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient,

humble servant,

Whether

Governor, &C..
