Mrs. Tutcher will accordingly
draw salary at the rate of $2,160 rising to $2,700 per
annum by biennial increments of $180, with exchange com-
-pensation, and the present Second Assistant Mistress, Miss
A. M. Bateman, whose salary is now at the rate of $1,380
rising to $1,860 per annum by triennial increments of $240,
with exchange compensation, will become Assistant Mistress
upon a salary at the rate of $1,680 rising to $2,040 per
annum by triennial increments of $120, commencing at $1,800
per annum. The post of Second Assistant Mistress will be
abolished and in place of this appointment a third Junior
Assistant will be engaged upon a salary of $240 rising to
$420 per annum by annual increments of $60.

By these arrangements an annual
saving of $1,560 and $2,240 will be effected in the minimum
and maximum emoluments respectively of the posts to which
salaries with exchange compensation are attached, from
which saving must be deducted one uncompensated salary in
