From what I heard at Hongkong it would ap-
-pear that there is a good deal of speculation in land in Kowloon
going on in anticipation of the hallway. Apparently it is general-
-ly supposed that the Hallway will terminate either on the land
side or at the Southern extremity of the Kowloon peninsula.
Under these circumstances perhaps the fore-
-shore in munghon Bay couli, if acquired now, se bought at a
reasonable price, if so possibly the enclosed rough sketch of a
suggested reclamation right be considered worthy of investigation.
The estimate is of course a very rough one
as the information on which it is based is merely taken from an
Admiralty Chart that I have borrowed. I send this rough sketch
not without some misgiving that it may be resented as intending
upon what does not concern me, if so I can only say that it is
quite unintentional.
