No. 4 of 12th. January, 1905, I have the honour to transmit
6 copies of the Second Issue of The Hongkong Civil Service
List, published on the 1st. instant with corrections to
December, 1905.

Copies of the map embodied in the
Colonial Office List have by kind permission of the Editors
of that List been bound up with the local publication.

The List has been re-arranged in
five parts to follow somewhat more closely the arrangement
of the Colonial Office List.
4.
For the population and financial
returns embodied in Part I of the first issue, I have sub-
-stituted the more complete tabular statements which were
stated in the 2nd. paragraph of my Despatch above referred
to, to be under compilation. They have been drawn up by my-
